SkyYield is our first mission and platform family: developing the payload concepts and autonomous operations needed for future manufacturing in orbit.
01 / Feasibility
ZBLAN fluoride glass is a candidate manufacturing process investigated for SkyYield.
In February 2026, the UK Space Agency announced support for an OrbiSky study to design a payload for processing ZBLAN in microgravity.
This establishes a feasibility and design programme. It does not establish flight qualification or material production in orbit.

Verify payload performance, environmental suitability and the safety of the complete mission system.
Establish a suitable mission architecture and flight opportunity with partners.
Demonstrate the process in its intended environment and build toward repeatable operations.
03 / What is real today
Current development includes a mission operations Platform, virtual and physical-device integration architecture, hardware-in-the-loop interfaces and execution integrity tooling.
SkyYield has not flown. No launch date, qualified payload or in-orbit manufacturing result is claimed here. Mission timing depends on technical verification, partners and funding.
